Problem
Mountain West Construction Group is a local company that does building and construction work on major roads and highways across the United States. They need a new identity system that appeals to potential customers and stands out among their competition.
Solution
A road traversing a golden mountain pass became the logo and symbolic identifier for the company and its business ideals. Their positioning statement, "Building Connections", came naturally from their identity and idealizes what they strive to accomplish as a company.
This project started out as a (failed) freelance job last semester, and I've very recently decided to explore this identity as a portfolio project to replace my editorial illustration project. I feel like this project will benefit my portfolio more so than the illustration. My other two identity projects are both nature/outdoor themed and both feature hand-drawn type, so I think it will prove beneficial to explore an identity on the other end of the spectrum.
